About us
We are a key voluntary organisation that acts to involve volunteers and local groups in improving life in Leicester and Leicestershire.
VAL was first established in 1965 as the Council for Voluntary Service for Leicester and has developed into a major force for change and improvement in the City. We now have a staff team of 60, have an annual income of over 2 million, and are based in a superb resource centre in the middle of the City.
Our outlook is dynamic, innovative and progressive we are determined to make a real difference through involving local people as volunteers and supporting excellent community and voluntary activity. Anyone wishing to volunteer, set up or run a community group, or wishing to influence public policy should get in touch with VAL.
