Why would you want to be involved in Partnership Working?

It is an opportunity for voluntary organisations to operate as an equal partner with Statutory Partners.

Why be a voluntary sector representative?

Participate in planning services and influencing change.
Be a part of LeicesterShire's voluntary sector partnership working as well as access to more information.

What is expected of me?

Commitment to attend meetings, feed in Voluntary & Community Sector thoughts and issues, as well as reporting back to the sector.

How many meetings will I be attending?

No more then two meetings bi-monthly

What sort of meetings will I be attending?

Partnership Board, or sub group and focus group meetings.

What will happen if I am unable to attend a meeting?

Tell us beforehand, we can either:

  • Arrange cover or/and
  • Send apologies to the meeting for you.

Will I get training?

Yes we have an initial Induction training soon after the election or selection and a refresher later on.

Will I get ongoing support?

Yes, VAL's Officers will be there to support you.

Will I get to meet other representatives?

Yes

What are the specialist areas I could be representing?

One of the following:

• Health and Social Care
• Children & Young People
• Stronger Communities
• Economic Development

Will I be reimbursed for my travel expenses?

There is currently no budget to reimburse travel expenses.

What should I do if I want to be a voluntary sector representative?

Fill in each section of the nomination form below and return it as soon as possible to:

What happens next?

The nomination forms are put before the next scheduled forum meeting, which will agree the voluntary sector representatives.

Once agreed, the representatives will be required to attend training on their responsibilities, roles and how the partnerships work locally. You will be required to attend induction/training.

Representatives will then be allocated partnership/network meetings according to their areas of interest.
