£2.42m of funding is now available through the Rural Social Inclusion strand of the Building Better Opportunities (BBO) programme. BBO programmes are jointly funded by the Big Lottery Fund and the European Social Fund; as a result, there is no match funding requirement. The closing date for applications is Monday 26 February at 12 noon.

The purpose of the project will be to support disadvantaged people in rural communities, within Leicester and Leicestershire, to move closer to or into employment. Some of the key activities that the project will need to implement include addressing the root causes of poverty in rural areas and tackling barriers to employment in a holistic and integrated way.

The Technical Assistance Project offers advice, support and guidance for VCSE groups who are interested in applying for European Social Funds. As such, we will be organising an event shortly aimed at partnership and consortia building for the above funding.
