Children’s Workforce Development
The Children's Workforce Development Project, based at VAL, supports the engagement of the private, voluntary and independent sectors children and young people's workforce in to children's workforce development strategies and agendas.
Key pieces of work include:
- Communication with the sector: keeping the sector informed of training opportunities, key policies and agendas affecting the workforce and opportunities to influence via this website, weekly e-briefings and quarterly newsletters
- Understanding the sector: undertaking an annual workforce data profile and training needs analysis to identify the size, scope, nature and developmental needs of the sector
- Up-skilling the workforce: ensuring the sector has access to information about training e.g. safeguarding, development and delivery of training sessions to the sector
- Representing the sector: attendance at key strategic meetings to ensure that the voice and needs of the PVI are put forward, facilitation and membership of the LSCB VCS Standing Reference Group.
The project currently works across Leicester City, Rutland and Northamptonshire.
