Choice Advice Service - Parent Partnership

Moving from primary/junior school to secondary school can be a difficult time for parents/carers and their children, if you would like help completing forms and navigating your way through the admissions process the Choice Adviser can help in a variety of ways.

Based within the Parent Partnership Service The Choice Advice Service offers free independent advice, information and support for parents/carers of children transferring to Secondary school.

Information can be provided by the Choice Adviser on the following;

  • School profile and specialism
  • Ofsted school inspection findings
  • Special Educational Needs Provision
  • School start and finish times and term dates
  • Travel arrangements

The Choice Adviser can also help if you are new to the city or if you are the parent/carer of a child currently without a school place.

Advice and guidance is also available on the admissions appeal process and preparing a case.

This support is offered in a variety of ways to suit you such as telephone information, a one to one meeting or group sessions.
