Common Assessment Framework
The Common Assessment Framework (CAF) is part of the Every Child Matters agenda and is a national programme aimed at supporting children and young people with additional unmet needs.
It provides a holistic assessment of needs and enables access to local multi-agency teams for support with providing services to meet any additional unmet needs.
It is important that everybody in the children and young people’s workforce has an awareness of the CAF and either knows how to complete an assessment or how to raise one.
