Community Safety
The Safer Future Communities Network for Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland has been setup to support VCS groups and social enterprises as elected Police Crime Commissioners (PCCs) are introduced.
What are Police Crime Commissioners?
The government has identified a need to improve the relationship between the police and public. Elected PCCs are being established to actively engage with local people to identify priorities for policing and crime.
PCCs will control parts of funding for community safety activities by making grants that support their objectives. This could include crime prevention, supporting victims and working with offenders.
