Economic Assessment and Strategy Consultation

DRAFT LEICESTER & LEICESTERSHIRE

STRATEGY FOR ECONOMIC GROWTH 2010-2020

February 1st - March 15th 2010

The Leicester and Leicestershire Economic Partnership have launched the formal consultation for both the Draft Economic Assessment and Draft Strategy and welcome your comments.

Over the past six months, Leicester & Leicestershire has been preparing a joint Economic Assessment (EA) which provides a comprehensive evidence base about the sub-regional economy.  The EA has informed the preparation of our sub-regional economic strategy. At the heart of the strategy is the partnership's performance framework which outlines the evidence based priority outcomes that will be delivered over the next 10 years. The strategy will be supported by three-year strategic commissioning plans for each of the priority outcomes within the performance framework.

The consultation involves two specific, but interlinked, documents:

  • The Draft Leicester and Leicestershire Economic Assessment. The Economic Assessment comprises a stand-alone summary document which is underpinned by the more detailed evidence presented in themed chapters.  Where relevant, variation by local authority district is covered in the themed chapters.
  • The Draft Leicester and Leicestershire Strategy for Economic Growth 2010-2020 of which is the partnership's performance framework which outlines the evidence based priority outcomes that we will deliver over the next 10 years.
