The Vetting and Barring Scheme has been halted. This means registration will not start as scheduled on 26th July. New safeguards brought in under the scheme in October 2009 are still in place.

After receiving an overwhelming number of fantastic nominations the Hidden Hero panel had the difficult task of choosing the top five.

The five have now been decided and your votes are now needed to decide on the winner. Voting begins on Monday 14 June.

Compact Leicestershire Consultation Event

Compact Leicestershire is an event that will be of interest to all groups and organisations that undertake work within Leicestershire County and currently do, or anticipate, working with statutory agencies and bodies. Compact is about the relationship between the Voluntary and Community Sector and the statutory service and funding providers.

The first Leicestershire Compact was launched in June 2003. Compact Leicestershire seeks to build upon the work undertaken through the original Compact agreement, reflect the new National Guidance and address local issues and opportunities in this time of economic and social change.

Two FREE accredited courses for the Voluntary Sector from VAL in conjunction with Leicester College
