Compact Leicestershire will be of interest to all groups and organisations that undertake work within Leicestershire County and currently do, or anticipate, working with statutory agencies and bodies.

Compact is about the relationship between the Voluntary and Community Sector and the statutory service and funding providers . The first Leicestershire Compact was launched in June 2003. Compact Leicestershire seeks to build upon the work undertaken through the original Compact agreement, reflect the new National Guidance and address local issues and opportunities in this time of economic and social change.

Compact Leicestershire was opened for consultation on the 10 May 2010 and as part of the 12 week consultation period the multi partner Compact Implementation Group (CIG) are seeking the views and opinions of the Voluntary and Community Sector, local authorities and other public service agencies to make the Compact Leicestershire an active and dynamic set of principles and understandings, enabling comprehensive and productive partnership working across the sectors. Compact Leicestershire seeks to bring all statutory bodies and the VCS together under one sub-regional Compact agreement to aid and support partnership working practices.

To inform the Compact Leicestershire consultation the CIG are holding a series of consultation events across the County.

The event of the 29 June will pull together organisations from across the sub-region, providing important feedback that will influence the Compact Leicestershire document.

The consultation documents can be viewed by clicking here.

The consultation period concludes on the 30 July 2010 To register your attendance please complete the attached Booking Form and return to gary.s@valonline.org.uk.
