AIMS
Do you know where you stand legally with your volunteers? This session will give you an overview of the legal position of volunteers, letting you know where problems could arise and how to avoid them. Topics include health and safety, criminal record checking and how to avoid creating employment relationships.
OBJECTIVES
• Identify the key legal difficulties that organisations using volunteers might face
• Identify methods of avoiding legal difficulties around issues such as employment, health and safety, and criminal record checking
• Describe changes in the law relating to volunteering
