What is the course about?
This course is the first step for individuals wanting to develop their skills in fundraising and writing effective funding applications. It looks at the different types of funding available, their advantages and disadvantages. You will look at where to look for funding and how to write applications for funding that give you and your organisation a greater chance of success.
What will you get out of it?
If you want to you can work towards a qualification of three credits at either level 1 or level 2 accredited by Aim Awards (formerly OCN EM). Your certificate will be forwarded to you within six weeks of completion of the course.
What does the course entail?
The course takes place over five sessions running each Tuesday morning 10:00-13:00 at the end of which you will put together a sample funding application and assess this with other members of the group. The course structure breaks down into the following:
- Session One: Introduction to funding
- Session Two: Assessing the need for your project
- Session Three: Different types of funding and finding the right funder for you
- Session Four: Project planning
- Session Five: Funding applications
Who is this course for?
The course is for anyone who wishes to develop their skills in putting funding applications together. It is designed for both complete beginners and those who wish to refresh their skills in this area.
Will there be a test?
Absolutely not. You will be assigned a tutor and most of the work will be completed in the group. There will be a small amount of work for you to do between sessions and all work will be put together in the form of a portfolio submitted shortly after the end of the session.
How much does the course cost?
