Leicestershire Together: Working in Partnership with the VCS event

Date and time: Tuesday 8 November 2011, 1pm - 4.30pm

Venue: Voluntary Action LeicesterShire

Leicestershire Together, in partnership with Voluntary Action LeicesterShire, is holding an event to look at how the voluntary and community sector can work closer with others in Leicestershire to improve the lives of local people.

Confirmed Speakers include Elizabeth Cox, Head of Connected Economies, new economics foundation, Andy Robinson, Assistant Chief Executive, Leicestershire County Council and John Warren, Manager, Lutterworth Volunteer Centre and Chair of the Compact Implementation Group.

This event is a great opportunity for VCS groups to come and find out more about Leicestershire Together's new structure and plans across key areas of work including children and young people, health and wellbeing, economic development, community safety and the environment.

The session will give people the opportunity to:

  • Find out more about the priorities and future work of Leicestershire Together.
  • Hear a national perspective on how involving the VCS in commissioning can lead to better outcomes for local communities.
  • Meet local commissioners.
  • Be part of the launch of the refreshed Compact for Leicestershire.
  • Promote the work of your group and discuss how it can contribute to priorities in the future.
  • Network and meet other VCS groups and partners from other sectors.
