More about the team

The Networks & Representation and Policy teams work with voluntary and community groups and representatives to help keep the sector and policy makers informed about the role the VCS can and should have in setting public policy.  We believe in ensuring that the voice of the sector is amplified to enable discussions on policies that will affect communities and peoples lives.

We do this by:

  • Providing information to VCS about public policy
  • Provide feedback from VCS to policy makers
  • Ensuring VCS is represented at strategic meetings
  • Develop and support Networks around key topics or groups
  • Training and developing individuals from groups to become effective Representatives
  • Undertake consultations to gain the VCS view to input to partners and policy
  • Creating an environment for the sector to come together on issues affecting them - via the VCS Assembly
