Interest is growing in volunteering at Special Olympics Leicester 2009 -
with a year to go to the Special Olympics National Summer Games over 175
people have registered their interest in being a volunteer at this major
event for our City , and our Special Olympics web pages have been viewed
over 700 times.

Targeted Support Fund – Programme Closed

The deadline for applications to the Targeted Support Fund has now closed therefore you are now no longer able to apply for the funding.

The assessment of all applications that have been submitted will take place over the next month and groups will find out the outcome of their applications by 18th August 2009


Response to Leicestershire County Council Strategic Commssioning & Procurement Strategy Consultation

Voluntary Action LeicesterShire's (VAL) Policy and Networks & Representation Teams have responded to Leicestershire County Council's Strategic Commissioning & Procurement Strategy consultation both as an organisation and as a conduit for the wider VCS response.

The VAL response focuses on four key areas of the Strategy:

Voluntary Action Leicestershire’s VALUES Project has been working with people with a learning disability in Leicester for eleven years helping them to be active, confident citizens through volunteering and gaining paid employment.

This role involves going out with individuals or small groups helping them volunteer and participate in social and leisure activities.

VALUES Employment Project Officer

Voluntary Action Leicestershire’s VALUES Project has been working with people with a learning disability in Leicester for eleven years helping them to be active, confident citizens through volunteering and gaining paid employment.

Brief description: 

This role involves running the employment strand of the VALUES project, helping individuals with a learning disability gain employment by identifying suitable employment opportunities, coaching and training.
