Interest is growing in volunteering at Special Olympics Leicester 2009 -
with a year to go to the Special Olympics National Summer Games over 175
people have registered their interest in being a volunteer at this major
event for our City , and our Special Olympics web pages have been viewed
over 700 times.


The deadline for applications to the Targeted Support Fund has now closed therefore you are now no longer able to apply for the funding.
The assessment of all applications that have been submitted will take place over the next month and groups will find out the outcome of their applications by 18th August 2009
Voluntary Action LeicesterShire's (VAL) Policy and Networks & Representation Teams have responded to Leicestershire County Council's Strategic Commissioning & Procurement Strategy consultation both as an organisation and as a conduit for the wider VCS response.

This role involves going out with individuals or small groups helping them volunteer and participate in social and leisure activities.

This role involves running the employment strand of the VALUES project, helping individuals with a learning disability gain employment by identifying suitable employment opportunities, coaching and training.

This role involves assisting the project leader across the full range of work to manage volunteers and students and help develop the project, which enables people with a learning disability volunteer, and gain paid employment.
