Grassroots Grants Programme

The Grassroots Grants programme is now in it's second year and is continuing to provide small grant funding to the Voluntary and Community Sector in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.

The key points to note regarding this funding are as follows:

• It is available to VCS groups in the Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.
• Groups have to have been active in their local community for at least 12 months prior to 31st December 2009
• Groups are encouraged to request projects based on full cost recovery.
• Maximum award £5,000 minimum award £250.
• Groups have to have an average income of less than £30k over the last 3 years *
• Groups can apply for a total of £5,000 this can be for a one off project or £5,000 over two years.

*This income threshold was previously set at £20,000 but has recently been increased to £30,000 due to feedback received from the sector.

All applications received for funding will be scored against set criteria to aid in the decision making process. For more information about the scoring of successful applications see the Scoring Matrix document listed below.
