Response to Leicestershire County Council Strategic Commssioning & Procurement Strategy Consultation
Voluntary Action LeicesterShire's (VAL) Policy and Networks & Representation Teams have responded to Leicestershire County Council's Strategic Commissioning & Procurement Strategy consultation both as an organisation and as a conduit for the wider VCS response.
The VAL response focuses on four key areas of the Strategy:
- Definition of Commissioning and Procurement
- Commissioning Planning Cycle
- Focus on Financial Savings
- Involvement of Leicestershire's VCS
VAL is keen to work in partnership with Leicestershire County Council to support and develop VCS involvement in commissioning and procurement and madea range of suggestions as to how this may be taken forward.
The full VAL response can be download below.
In order to facilitate broader feedback VAL delivered a workshop for VCS groups working with service users from Leicestershire to inform them of process and establish a combined response which was then submitted to Leicestershire County Council to inform the consultation process.
The report considered both the strategy as a whole and specific points throughout the document with suggestions for development and future actions.
The detailed feedback from the workshop is available to download below.
