BBC Radio One DJ promotes volunteering through a week of challenges
Tim Westwood, is becoming a 'Local Hero' throughout this week by completeing a number of volunteering challenges with celebrity helpers.
Tim began his week by helping out at a Charity Shop in North London with pop princess Alexandra Burke.
His second challenge taking place today is cleaning up a stretch of the Thames with the help of fellow Radio One DJ Scott Mills.
Tim's week of challenges entitled 'Local hero' is all about encouraging people to volunteer - giving up the time free of charge to help others and the local community.
Before he embarked on his first challenge Tim said: "I'm looking forward to getting my hands dirty... as I give it up for free."
