Policy update - Leicestershire Together challenge process
The first Leicestershire Together challenge process meeting was held on the 4 February and focused on the theme of economic growth. Voluntary Action LeicesterShire and VCS representatives attended and will continue to highlight areas where the VCS can add value to commissioning throughout the challenge process.
These meetings are part of the new joint commissioning structure for Leicestershire. VAL have produced an overview of this process, and a number of key issues that were highlighted by VCS groups at workshops in January.
There are two further meetings scheduled:
- Workshop 2 - Thursday 9 February: People (Demand Management). This session will be looking at people / demand management, including health and wellbeing, safer communities, children and young people, sport and physical activity, plus elements of the rural plan, and an update on the latest model proposed for "troubled families" / families with complex needs.
- Workshop 3 - Wednesday 15 February: TBC
VAL and VCS representatives will be attending these meetings, so if you would like them to raise a particular point in the workshop, then please email Nick Mills at nick.m@valonline.org.uk or 0116 2575033. We will summarise the main points from these workshops and share the actions that result in future ebriefings.
