VAL and partners successful in Transforming Local Infrastructure fund

Voluntary Action LeicesterShire has been awarded £941,996 by the Office for Civil Society's Transforming Local Infrastructure fund. The successful bid will radically improve the support available to local community groups across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.

The bid will help community groups collaborate to create new and better services and work together to compete for bigger contracts and generate new income. Increasing private sector giving and helping businesses work alongside local people is also a key focus.

Working alongside Voluntary Action LeicesterShire will be a range of partners; Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland Community Foundation, the Race Equality Centre, Leicestershire and Rutland Rural Community Council, Leicester Centre for Integrated Living, African Caribbean Citizens Forum, Communities in Partnership, Leicestershire Ethnic Minority Partnership and Voluntary Action Rutland.
