Voluntary Action LeicesterShire want to speak to voluntary groups working with black and minority ethnic communities in the Spinney Hills and Highfields area of the city.
In the past couple of years these groups have been hit hard by funding cuts and their numbers have declined more quickly than other parts of the sector.
Voluntary Action LeicesterShire are carrying out research to get a more detailed picture of the impact on BME communities in Leicester, and are asking BME groups in Spinney Hills and Highfields to help by filling out a simple, short questionnaire.
Nick Mills, policy officer at Voluntary Action LeicesterShire said, "Groups working with BME communities provide essential support to the people they work with. As well as offering a wide variety of services from lunch clubs to youth clubs, these groups also play a really important role in people's lives, acting as an informal point of contact for advice and help on a diverse range of issues from housing to benefits.
"They are the glue that binds communities together and this research will help us gain a better understanding of the problems they are facing and the best ways to offer support."
