Key changes to Leicester City Budgets - Have your say at VAL's Consultation Event on 17 January

Leicester City Council have now published their budget proposals for the next three years. As part of the Stand up for Communities campaign, Voluntary Action LeicesterShire is holding a series of workshop sessions to feed into the setting of spending priorities for both the City and the County and we want to hear YOUR views.

Leicestershire County Council will be formally publishing their Budget on January 17 and running a consultation from the 17 until 31 January. VAL will produce a briefing as soon as details become available.

The Big Lottery Fund has launched a nationwide discussion asking voluntary sector and social enterprise managers, working in frontline, infrastructure support and development organisations, how they think funding should be used to develop support for the VCS and social enterprises.

A representative for the voluntary sector is urgently sought to sit on the Leicester City Adult Safeguarding Board. Primary care trusts’ last funding announced

The Department of Health has announced NHS budgets for next year, the last funding that primary care trusts will receive before their proposed abolition. Both our local primary care trusts have received an increase in funding for 2012/13 and £2.5 million has been specifically allocated for further investment in helping patients recover after hospital treatment. VAL is establishing how much of this additional investment is being tendered out and we will keep you informed of any developments or opportunities to tender for services.
