VAL has a say on BBC 1's The Big Questions

VAL's Stronger Communities Co-ordinator Rajo Saira appeared on the show which was broadcast live from the Samworth Enterprise Academy in Leicester on Sunday 17 January.

The show, hosted by Nicky Campbell asked "are we too selfish to be good neighbours" in response to the recent news of an elderly couple who died in their home several days before they were found.

Rajo spoke of the work that the Stronger Communities team do and how they help to 'enable and empower local communties' to join forces and face problems together, a comment which the audience applauded in agreement.

Speaking about her appearance in the show Rajo said: "It was a great experience and I felt very honoured to be asked to go on the show. It was a great way to highlight the great work that the team and the rest of VAL do on a daily basis."
