Personalisation
What is Personalisation?
The essence of Personalisation is that Adult Social Care services will be tailor made to the needs of the service user, as opposed to the situation where the individual has to fit into the system. This means that a service user with a budget could knock on your door wanting to buy your services.
Personalisation is not a new concept, as Direct Payments and the Independent Living Fund have already enabled some service users to take greater control of their lives.
There are many drivers for the Personalisation Agenda, the latest being Putting People First which looks at introducing the Personalisation agenda in the Social Care field.
How is Personalisation branded?
This work is being undertaken under different names including:
- Transforming Adult Social Care
- Personalisation Agenda
To complicate matters the terms used are interchangeable.
