PPS Volunteers
Parent Partnership Service recruits Independent Parental Supporters (IPS) and other volunteers to:
- provide telephone support and advice
- meet with parents to give them information and practical help
- accompany parents on school visits and to meetings
- help with administrative support
Do you think you have the following qualities to be a volunteer with the Parent Partnership Service?
Are you:
- able to be a good listener?
- able to view a situation from different points of view?
- able to inspire trust and confidence?
- willing to learn?
- open to asking questions about what you do and how you do it?
- able to develop positive relationships with a variety of people?
- able to communicate effectively with a wide range of people?
If you feel you have these qualities and are interested in exploring the possibility of being a volunteer we would love to hear from you.
We provide training for volunteers
- ongoing support and training
We provide support for volunteers
- a support worker and other staff who are available for one-to-one advice and information
- small groups for supervision and support that meet once a term
- support group meetings, bringing together all volunteers once a month
- being a volunteer with the Parent Partnership Service offers you ways of supporting people in a rewarding way, giving you space and support to learn and develop
- the opportunity to develop skills for employment and career
