Care Providers Forum

The Forum is for voluntary and community sector care providers in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland, and provides a chance to hear from external speakers, discuss important issues and how we can influence policy and practice, and to network with other organisations.

Purpose

  • To act as the key interface for Voluntary Sector Care Providers in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland that are, or will be regulated by the Care Standards Act 2008.
  • To enable a flow of information and consultation between Voluntary Sector Care Providers and the Leicestershire Social Care Development Group.
  • To provide a voice for Voluntary Sector Care Providers with which to influence policy makers and funders.
  • To identify and nominate members to represent Voluntary Sector Care Providers on partnerships, consultative forums and other relevant groups.
  • To brief Voluntary Sector Care Provider representatives, and to receive and consider their feedback.
  • To ensure that all relevant information is disseminated, that Voluntary Sector Care Providers are consulted and made aware of funding opportunities.
  • To explore the opportunities for combining resources, skills and experience.
  • To develop good practice.
  • To share problems and concerns, and offer mutual support.
  • To share information and interpretation on the national standards regulations, and experience of inspection by the Care Quality Commission.
  • To examine quality issues and make recommendations where necessary.
  • To consider the social care agenda in ways that assists Voluntary Sector Care Providers to respond in a proactive and innovative way.
