Running Effective Meetings
Aims
The aim of this session is to provide participants with an understanding of what makes an effective meeting, how planning can assist in enabling effective meetings and to provide them with the practical skills to ensure that meetings run according to plan.
Objectives
After the session participants will be able to:
- Explain the purpose of meetings and how understanding the purpose of meetings can assist in making them effective
- Describe the characteristics of an effective meeting
- List the steps required in planning an effective meeting
- Explain the importance of procedures within a meeting
Duration of session
The session is two hours long although it can be tailored to the personal needs of your group at the agreement of the trainer.
This session is part of VAL’s ‘core training’ offer. Core training is available to voluntary and community sector groups free of charge at a venue of your choosing. You will be required to cover the cost of your venue and any refreshments you require on the day. VAL also require a minimum number of ten people on any session.
