Schemes submitted by parish or town councils, schools, community groups and registered charities can be awarded grants of up to 50% of the cost of a project.

All applicants must be able to provide the balance of the money for the project, either from their own funds or other grant schemes or both.

Leicestershire County Council's SHIRE Community Environmental Improvement Grants are available for environmental improvement schemes in Leicestershire. Applications are considered from the following organisations:

• Parish or town councils
• Charities
• Properly constituted community groups
• Schools
