Social Enterprise - Thinking about Trading?

'Social Enterprise' is a loose umbrella term for organisations whose profits are used for community benefit rather than private benefit.

Social Enterprises trade to make money and trading is an increasingly important source of income for many voluntary and community groups. VCS groups are in a unique position to offer paid services tailored to communities' needs as they have a close relationship and a clear understanding of their interests and problems.

All voluntary organisations can trade - come and speak to VAL's Group Support Team to find out how to get started.

We can help you explore what it is you have to sell, and who you can sell it to.

Our support includes:

  • advice and training
  • business planning
  • help finding investment
  • assistance in putting together the paperwork
