School Sports Volunteers
Are you interested in sport and physical activity? Would you like the chance to help young children get fit in new and innovative ways in after school sports clubs? Change for Life volunteers are required to deliver fun activity sessions to young children in a school setting once a week. Full training will be given to volunteers. This is excellent opportunity to gain some high quality experience.
Sports Development Co-ordinator
A part time sports development volunteer is needed to support the administration and co-ordination of the B-active Women project in Leicester. The project is run by Leicester City Sports regeneration team and the NHS. The role will involve data collection, project administration, helping participants with their timetables, liaising with partners and general project support. An ideal role for somebody who wants to gain some high quality sports development experience.
Youth Sport Mentor
Leicester Community Sports is an organisation whose aim is to use sport to reach out to young people and adults in the community. Mentors are needed to help the coach engage and motivate the young people during sports sessions. You do not need to be a skilled player or have any coaching qualifications, the emphasis will be on supporting the participants to get involved, building their skills and confidence and allow them to get the most out of the sessions.
Athletics
Parkrun Braunstone Park (Leicester) and Conkers (Ashby de la Zouch)
Parkrun is a new running concept - a free, timed and marked 5k run in local parks that takes place every Saturday morning at 9am at parks all over the world. Leicestershire now has two Parkruns. Both runs are organised by volunteers, so your support would be really valuable, tasks are easy and the events are fun. Volunteers will be asked to volunteer once a month (8.30am-10.15am) on a Saturday of their choice.
Basketball
Basketball table officials
Basketball table officials are needed to support clubs across the City and County. Tasks will involve timekeeping and keeping the score. Training can be given but some knowledge of basketball is required.
Wheelchair Basketball
The Leicester Cobras are a large dynamic disability sports club in Leicester City. They cater for players aged 12 to adult and have a number of teams competing regionally and nationally. The club has vacancies for the following volunteers:
Trainee Table Official - This role would suit somebody who enjoys basketball and is good at working under pressure in a busy game environment. Times are flexible and dependent on the games schedule.
Minibus Driver - An experienced minibus driver is required to help with transport for away games. Times are flexible and dependent on the schedule of away games.
City Of Leicester Lady Hoops Basketball Club
Lady Hoops are looking for a qualified table officials and statisticians to help at their matches. Games take place at Bosworth College on Thursday's from 7.15pm-9.15pm and at Fulhurst Community College on Sundays from 12.30pm-2.30pm.
Football Opportunities
Coach for Ladies East Midlands league team
Heather St Johns Football club require a coach for their senior ladies 1st team who play in the East Midlands league. Training takes place on Wednesday evenings 7pm-8.30pm with matches on Sunday afternoons. The home ground is St John's Park, Heather (nr Ibstock.) The team is well established and plays at a high level. A level 1 qualified coach with experience would be ideal.
The Leicestershire and Rutland County FA Young Leaders Football Futures
The LRCFA is looking for young people (14-18 yrs) to join their Football Futures young leaders programme. The LRCFA will help each Young Leader to gain a number of football related qualifications and gain valuable volunteering experience in football club management, refereeing or coaching.

Conservation Volunteering - Great Exercise!
The Green Gym
Want to build up your fitness, get some fresh air and exercise and help improve the environment. Groundwork help people to make changes in their environment to create better neighbourhoods, and encourages us to live and work in a greener way. Volunteering takes place on Tuesdays at a variety of locations around the city and county. Transport is provided from the city centre and you can volunteer on the dates that work for you on an ad hoc basis.
Special Olympics Club Inclusive Sports Coach
The SOGB Leicester club are recruiting qualified coaches to expand the range of sports they can currently offer to athletes and would welcome help from qualified Level 1 or Level 2 coaches (in any of the Special Olympic sports.) The club meet every Thursday evening from 6pm-8pm at Southfields Drive Sports Hall, Southfields Dr, Saffron Lane Estate, Leicester, LE2 6QS.

Sporting Change
Is a sport and physical activity programme for vulnerable and disadvantaged people in Blaby, Oadby and Wigston and Lutterworth. The following volunteer roles are available.
Coaching assistants: To support the coach running a variety of different sports. No coaching qualifications are needed but volunteers should be confident, enjoy working with a group in a sports environment and be willing to help with a variety of tasks.
Buddy Volunteers: To provide one on one support to participants, encouraging them to try new sports, accompanying them to the gym or swimming pool, meeting for walks/runs etc. Volunteers do not need any specific sports skills but should enjoy sport and motivating people.
Grow with confidence sports session: A schools based sports programme at Counthesthorpe College for young people lacking in confidence or at risk of exclusion. Volunteers are required to help with the sessions and should enjoy working with young people, have a mature and confident approach and be keen to support young people to overcome challenges.

Special Olympics Great Britain (Leicester) Sports Club
The SOGB Leicester club aims to provide a number of different Special Olympic sports in a warm and welcoming environment for athletes aged 16+. Awards of between £1,000 and £100,000 are available to not-for-profit organisations that have secured sponsorship to deliver new community projects to grow or sustain participation in sport.
