All are welcome to the second annual ‘Tackling Food Poverty in Leicester’ event on Wednesday 22 February. Action Homeless will be looking back at progress made in the last year and looking forward to identify how the sector can work together to tackle the increasing demand we all face.
A buffet Lunch will be provided.
Action Homeless will be discussing the results of the Annual Food Bank User Survey and reviewing the progress that has been made since last year’s event. There will be opportunities to hear from experts in their fields and to share your own views on important topics, including:
- What are the key priorities to tackle Food Poverty in the City
- The City Council’s new Emergency Food Plan
- Developing a sustainable and affordable Food Project for the City
- Impact of welfare reform on the City and how to meet the challenges.
The event will be attended by Cllr Waddington, Assistant Mayor for Jobs and Skills and other key City Council officers.
They will also be confirming a Key Note speaker in the near future.
