2012 Impact Awards

The 2012 IMPACT Awards, which provide core funding for health charities in the UK who have income under £1.5 million, were launched on 1 July.

£14 million to empower communities and build safer neighbourhoods

Two new funds totalling £14 million are being made available to the voluntary sector to empower communities to take action against crime and antisocial behaviour, Crime Prevention Minister Baroness Browning announced last week.

Coffee Morning for Deaf, Hard of Hearing, Deafened and Deafblind people from BME communities - All ages welcome

Date: 14 and 28 July, 11 and 25 August, 8 and 22 September, 6 and 20 October, 3 and 17 November

Action Deafness Cultural hosts regular Coffee Mornings for people with hearing difficulties can meet up and chat with people in a similar situation.

Hearing Aid Repair Clinic Drop-in Service

Hearing Services Dept offers Drop-in hearing aid repair services at this centre only, no appointments needed. Free services include: free batteries, retubing, new earmoulds and other minor adjustments.

Inspired Facility Workshop

Date and Time: Monday 1 August

Sport England's 'Inspired Facilities Fund' will award capital grants to refurbish and improve up to 1,000 community sports clubs. Funds are available from £20,000 - £150,000.

Basic Counselling Skills Course (credited by Open College Network)

Date and time: 26 September 2011 6.30-9.00pm
Cost: £220.00

For those engaged in a helping or supporting role, managers, mentors or for those thinking of a career in counselling.
