VCS Engagement with Leicestershire County Children’s Trust arrangements

The VCS Children & Young People’s Services Forum (Leicestershire & Rutland) supports VCS engagement with the Leicestershire Children’s Trust arrangements. The formal title for the Forum is:

Children & Young People’s Services Forum

Supporting Leicestershire and Rutland Voluntary & Community Sector

The purpose of the Forum is to promote and enable engagement between the VCS and relevant partners (e.g. statutory sector partners) to help improve outcomes for children and young people locally, therefore the work in Leicestershire local authority area is focused around the Children’s Trust arrangements.

The full Terms of Reference for the Forum is currently being amended, following the transfer to Voluntary Action LeicesterShire of the responsibility to run the Forum. They will be available to download in the near future.

The Forum has an Executive Group (called the VCS Forum Executive Group) that drives and conducts Forum business, and where possible, coordinates and supports VCS representation within the Leicestershire County Children’s Trust governance arrangements. We will shortly be posting a membership list of the VCS Forum Executive Group on the website. We will also be looking for new members in the New Year.

The Leicestershire County Children’s Trust arrangements have a governance structure consisting of a series of multi-agency forums/meetings. The top level consists of the Leicestershire Children and Young People’s Board, the Leicestershire Children and Young People’s Service Executive which sits under the Board, and three age related sub groups (0 to 5, 5 to 13 and 13 plus) which sit under the Executive. There are also a series of cross cutting working groups
