Village SOS Live in the East Midlands

Village SOS is an exciting initiative by Big Lottery Fund and the BBC to launch a rural revival and inspire people to start community businesses that will breathe new life into their areas and create jobs.
This event is part of a campaign that includes a nationwide advice line, where people can get expert advice about setting up and running community enterprises from business, social enterprise and rural specialists, and a pot of £5.3 million in awards of between £10,000 and £30,000 to help communities kick-start their ideas.
At this FREE event, you'll have the unique opportunity to hear expert hands-on advice from rural and enterprise specialists including Plunkett Foundation Plunkett and its partners Co-operatives UK, Locality and Action with Communities in Rural England.

How to start your own community-owned project Regional and inspirational community businesses, such as community-owned shops and pubs, broadband projects or transport schemes sharing their journey and path to success Workshops and exhibits Expert advice from sector specialists

- If you already have a community-owned project and are looking for advice and support
- If you are from an organisation that supports rural communities or community-owned projects and want to know more.
