Why Volunteer?
Volunteering is simple. It's about giving your time to do something useful, without getting paid (apart from expenses).
In return you get the satisfaction of time and effort well spent. In addition, volunteering can be a great way to: meet new people learn new skills gain useful experience. It should also be fun!
The range of opportunities is huge. Whatever skills and experience you have, there is something that you can do.
The biggest problem for many people is finding the time to volunteer. However, VAL can help you to find the right opportunity no matter how much time you can give.
There are no age-limits on volunteering and VAL has projects that are age specific to help to meet your needs.
Thousands of people already volunteer in the County, but many more are needed. So call the VAL helpline today on 0116 257 5050.
Don't just take our word for it, read below for first-hand experiences from volunteers and their reasons for doing so.
