We'd like to say a huge thank you to everyone who came along to Future Focus 2018 at the end of September. Over 100 delegates came along to take part in eight workshops, all aimed at helping our local voluntary sector to thrive.

Our morning workshops covered fundraising from trusts and foundations, the Leicester City Council Public Health Strategy, understanding the volunteer experience, and Prevention in Leicestershire. In the afternoon delegates learned how to strengthen their organisations, attract major gifts, manage risk, and how to use social media.

We were also very lucky to start the day with a fantastic opening speaker in Lyndsey Young from the fantastic The Friendly Bench project, which aims to tackle isolation in older people, and we closed the day with Liz Fleuty from the Canal and River Trust, where we learned about the amazing work they and their volunteers do to preserve over 2,000 miles of historic waterways.

We've uploaded some of the photos from the day to our Facebook page, so feel free to pop over and take a look.

Don't miss our next event

Our next event is our City Funding Fair, which is currently pencilled in for 8 November.

Keep an eye out for updates, and we look forward to seeing you there!
